No...? Just curious then...?
crankyhead - May 1, 2013, 10:16 pm
Why, does that mean you're interested?
StoneTools - May 1, 2013, 10:09 pm
you don't make it a habit? So does that mean that you do it periodically?
crankyhead - May 1, 2013, 9:57 pm
Sorry OTC, I'm not like you, I don't make a habit out of showering with other dudes, g**, straight or otherwise. I wouldn't even consider it if I knew what ended the last ice age.
OTC - May 1, 2013, 12:06 pm
Did you ask the straight guys what they think about showering with g a y s?
crankyhead - April 27, 2013, 7:49 pm
Let me guess, you're not going to ask the women what they think about that, are you?
OTC - April 27, 2013, 7:37 pm
G a y s in the military, so to be fair, straight guys should be allowed to shower with the women.
PapaFox - April 27, 2013, 5:59 pm
A number of Republicans including Goldwater, Ford, Reagan supported g** rights, including g**s in the military - although things like g** marriage weren't even thought of back then.
PapaFox - April 27, 2013, 5:53 pm
Re-reading that, "the party used to be pro-choice" might be an overstatement, as I'm not sure of the exact percentages nationwide. But suffice to say much of the party was more pro-choice than today's membership - or at least the more vocal ones.
PapaFox - April 27, 2013, 5:50 pm
Others for it included notables like Goldwater, Ford, Reagan (although he shifted later) - Nixon was mixed on it (and used some pretty tactless reasoning).
PapaFox - April 27, 2013, 5:50 pm
Not as young as I thought then, not much younger than me. Start with the Court in Roe v Wade, 6 of the 9 Justices were Republican. And of the Republicans I knew growing up, most of them were pro-choice.
Cyberhagen - April 27, 2013, 5:16 pm
g** rights is what form tho, PF? Domestic partnerships, or Marriage? I don't think anyone in congress in say, the '70s or '80s would have conceived of championing g** marriage. (Just as an example). But like ST says, I wish we had a Moderate party.
Cyberhagen - April 27, 2013, 5:12 pm
Umm.. I'm 50. I dont' ever recall the GOP being pro-choice, which is one of the areas where I disagree with them.
PapaFox - April 27, 2013, 3:55 pm
You must be very young to have such a misguided view. For one, the party used to be pro-choice, in keeping with the less-government-interference philosophy.
PapaFox - April 27, 2013, 3:53 pm
Wrong. The Republican party used to be far more moderate, such as supporting abortion rights, and many of them have supported g** rights for decades. But in recent years the right-wing loons have taken over, and the party has degenerated accordingly.
Cyberhagen - April 27, 2013, 3:35 pm
I know, but it will probably never happen. It would get sh** down from both sides.
Cyberhagen - April 27, 2013, 3:34 pm
I find that verrrry hard to believe. The right has pretty much always held it's views it holds today, but popular/youth culture is bucking the trend. What tenets, deemed to the right, did you once hold?
Cyberhagen - April 27, 2013, 3:32 pm
I wasn't talking about PF, but about us.
Cyberhagen - April 27, 2013, 3:32 pm
lol. You're totally left. It's not that the right has moved so much (though some of it has) as has the left moved left. Many of today's h** issues (illegal immigrants, g** marriage) would not have even been considered in the past, for being too left.
StoneTools - April 27, 2013, 2:12 pm
and neither party will ever come down from their extremist views. That's why we desperately need a viable 3rd party.
StoneTools - April 27, 2013, 2:11 pm
You are absolutely right about the republicans, but the democrats are doing the same thing in the opposite direction and your postings are almost exclusively pro-democrat viewpoints.
PapaFox - April 27, 2013, 2:08 pm
Psst, actually I'm a moderate. It's just that the current Repub party has lurched so far to the right over the past few years that they've forgotten what a moderate is.
PapaFox - April 27, 2013, 2:05 pm
Actually hard core moderate former Republican who quit the party when it when off the rails a few years back. If the party ever finds its soul again, it'll get more of my support again.
crankyhead - April 27, 2013, 1:53 pm
What difference?
StoneTools - April 27, 2013, 1:51 pm
I recall you stating somewhere that you are not a US citizen. Do they even have a democrat party where you live? If not, it would explain it. However, PF sounds like he is a US citizen. Big difference.
crankyhead - April 27, 2013, 1:47 pm
Just for the record, I'd like to point out that PF only denied being a Democrat. He didn't deny being a liberal. I'd also like to point out that this point, was pointed out, by a reasonable, critically thinking liberal.
crankyhead - April 27, 2013, 1:45 pm
Of course I'm liberal. That's what happens to people when they learn how to think critically, and formulate arguments from reason.
StoneTools - April 27, 2013, 1:41 pm
OMG, are you admitting that you are a liberal? Do you post only liberal leanings? You see the difference? I think that you will admit that you are a liberal, PF, on the other hand denies it repeatedly.
crankyhead - April 27, 2013, 1:37 pm
Gee, that's odd. I wonder why people don't just agree with every accusation I throw at them? #sarcasmforwingnuts
StoneTools - April 27, 2013, 1:33 pm
why he doesn't just admit it instead of living in a state of denial.
StoneTools - April 27, 2013, 1:32 pm
That's not quite right. If everything someone posts is one sided and comes from blogs on that side, they are one of them. Most extremists *cough* PF *cough* ONLY do one party postings. I don't think anyone doubts that PF is a far lefty. I don't understand
Cyberhagen - April 27, 2013, 1:25 pm
That's what sucks about being moderate/middle. Those on the outer wings only see you based on the issues in which you side with "the enemy", and not the things you have in common. Friend of none, bane of all.
Cyberhagen - April 27, 2013, 1:23 pm
What are you talking about PF? You're hard core left. What exactly would you be willing to compromise on?
Renza - April 26, 2013, 7:57 am
Agreed, unfortunately not many people seem to be interested in such things.

The point is that when choosing someone for a job, ANY jobb, the decision should be based on their qualifications, not their skin color. If he had researched candidates as thoroughly as he did surgeons, he would not have voted for Obama.
Libertas - November 28, 2015, 3:54 pm
it makes perfect sense. For a politician that votes "present" so many times as a state senator, shows he is not qualified to be a leader, any more than as a brain surgeon!
Cyberhagen - November 28, 2015, 12:19 pm
That argument makes no sense. Obama isn't a brain surgeon (for sure)but a politician. Now, if he'd chosen a white surgeon over a black surgeon because he didn't feel the black surgeon was qualified, you'd have a point.

You say you believe in climate change but you think the hoax part is where scientists mostly blame humans. Again, what in that competing research you cited shows that the scientific community is engaging in a hoax/conspiracy to pin climate change on men?
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 9:43 pm
Once again....how does the research pertaining to those different subjects DEMONSTRATE a "manmade global warming HOAX" or a "97% consensus scientist hoax"? where in that research does it show the scientific community is engaging in a deliberate hoax???
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 9:42 pm
You're confusing semantics. I don't care. So.....how does the research pertaining to solar activity, volcanoes, el Nino, Earth's orbit.etc, demonstrate a 97% consensus hoax OR a man-made global warming hoax?
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 9:40 pm
And(C)if u cant answer the question(or you just dont wanna)THEN AT LEAST SAY SO.Then I'll just ignore you when u leave behind your opinions on my posters. If you're looking for a debate.Great! But if you're looking for attention, please look elsewhere.Cheers
OTC - February 25, 2015, 9:35 pm
Comment #73177 you said man-made CO2, but you keep bringing up man-made GW. Well, either way, there plenty of research pertaining to solar activity, volcanoes, el Nino/ la Nina, earth's orbit which affect climate change, yet libs only see 1 thing: humans
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 9:24 pm
Again, in your comment #72941, OTC, you say "Someone who believes the "man-made" global warming hoax its no surprise they believe in the 97% consensus hoax too". Okay, all I care about is: what is your EVIDENCE that there are these TWO HOAXES by science?
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 9:20 pm
Sooooo.....OTC, you think that man-made global warming is a hoax AND that the 97% consensus is a hoax. Yes? So then...that represents a MAJOR indictment of the scientific community. So WHAT IS YOUR EVIDENCE proving that their are perpetraing these hoaxes?
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 9:16 pm
But you DID say, OTC #72884 -->"I haven't changed my stand on 'man-made' global warming, I still think it's a hoax." And #72941 "Someone who believes the "man-made" global warming hoax its no surprise they believe in the 97% consensus hoax too".
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 9:13 pm

OTC - February 25, 2015, 8:11 pm
Comment #73177 you clearly stated man-made "CO2" is a hoax, which I didn't say, but you want to evade that with something I said that is totally different
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 6:07 pm
Ah, now comes out the "meds" comeback. So many one-trick ponies. ;-) Ok, nice dodge, but again I asked you about this--> OTC said,"my stand on'man-made' global warming,I still think it's a hoax." And (A)your proof for this is? or(B)you'll sit on that fence
OTC - February 25, 2015, 6:02 pm
You stated i said man made "CO2" is a hoax, which I never did. and you cone back with something I said about man man "Global Warming"? So you think CO2 and GW are the same thing? lol. you must be off your meds again
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 2:04 pm
You're evading now. Ok, whatever.Anywayz, here is what you said:[@OTC-->]"I haven't changed my stand on 'man-made' global warming, I still think it's a hoax." Okay then, what's your evidence showing the scientific consensus is engaging in a hoax?
OTC - February 25, 2015, 1:54 pm
You really have comprehension problems, I didn't say man made CO2 was a hoax
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 6:18 am
...stop confusing SITTING on the fence for an actual argument. You conveniently dodged THAT PART of my post too.Since u keep bringing up that man-made CO2 is a hoax but climate change isnt: what's your evidence showing the consensus fabricated this?
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 6:11 am
...so let's start off with something easy; why dont you jump off the fence on that at least? For it seems that you won't leave the fence AGAIN on CO2 even when given the chance to explain yourself: you won't provide evidence to make your claim
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 6:00 am

OTC - February 25, 2015, 2:30 am
No, you just found a different report than the one I came across, but that's fine. if you believe so strongly in human activities causing global warming, why don't you help by shutting off your internet?
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 12:39 am

fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 12:26 am
So, once again, you offered "evidence" that doesn't say what you want it to say, and in fact, says the opposite. But even then, you offered a quote from a 45 year old paper from a dead scientist? And as your proof against the current LIVING consensus?
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 12:21 am
The quote you siphoned came from H.Lamberts 45 year old paper,"Man-Made Climatic Changes: Man's activities have altered the climate... - PubMed - NCBI". The paper, puts that quote well on context and shows the concern even from nearly a half century ago.
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 12:14 am
H.Lambert did indeed say 45 years ago: "on the global scale natural forces still prevail."And the rest of his Landsberg's comment was "this should not lead to complacency" about the risk of global changes in the distant future."
fauxnews - February 25, 2015, 12:11 am
P.S. You're right...sorta. THAT Landsberg's work DOES come up in many reports. But it is clear you really did just blindly google him, because...*ahem*...you left out important parts of that 'quote' you shared ;-)
fauxnews - February 24, 2015, 9:25 pm

OTC - February 24, 2015, 9:04 pm
Why don't YOU try googling Helmut Landsberg (the climatologist)
fauxnews - February 24, 2015, 8:48 pm

fauxnews - February 24, 2015, 8:44 pm
As for Landsburg, do even bother to read the stuff you blindly google? Landsburg is an economist who writes for the Slate. He's your evidence against man-made climate change??? He's about as qualified as my cat.His opinion's about as valid as Al Gores,NOT
fauxnews - February 24, 2015, 8:34 pm
Oh,so now "CO2 might be altering climate?" albeit in limited regions? So ManMade CO2 CAN have an affect on the environment, madam? Or is it,sir?Seriously, why dont you at least settle THAT once and for all if it bothers you so much-you started it,ya know?;-)
OTC - February 24, 2015, 8:08 pm
You're buying into the words cranky put in my text, just like you're buying into the MMGW. "While pollution and CO2 might be altering the climate in limited regions," H. Landsberg wrote, "on the global scale natural forces still prevail."
fauxnews - February 24, 2015, 7:18 pm
Just like there's 2 kinds of CO2,eh OTC?The kind that causes climate change that's naturally produced VS.the mass quantities of it by man that dont cause GW,amirite? Sorta like how you're 2 different kinds of gender depending on the argument? ;-)Nice try
fauxnews - February 24, 2015, 7:12 pm
